Wednesday is about to get real!  I am excited to start this new book today.  The book is “Intentional Living” by John C Maxwell.  I started reading it this morning.  Dude spits game better than anyone else I have seen.  Leggoooooo!  John starts early on in the book by asking these questions.  I challenge you to ask them to yourself.  “Have you thought about what you want your life story to be?”  “Do you believe that you can live a life of significance?”  “Can you do things that really matter?”  “Can you make your story great?”  I am a true believer in the fact that first of all, we DO write our own stories of life, and that we can make that story great or one of misery.  Either way it is a choice.

It is time to live intentionally.  When you do this, there really is no limit to what you can do.  “You can transform yourself, your family, your community, and your nation.”

John talks about the time he was given a book by one of his workers.  The book was called “The Greatest Story Ever Told.”  He was excited to read it.  When he opened it up to get started, he realized that most of the book had blank pages.  The author was literally setting it up for him to write his story; the perfect story.  To me, this is one of the most powerful concepts in the world.  One of God’s gifts to us is free agency.  This gift allows us to sit at the drivers seat of life.  Many of us fall into the falsity that there are several drivers that occupy our life’s journey.  We believe that we are not in complete control of the path that is taken.  WRONG!  You could not be more wrong.  Although we cannot control what life brings us some times, we sure as hell can control how we handle it.  We can’t control if there is going to be a storm outside.  But what we can control how we drive during the storm.

If someone where to pull out your book of life right now, what would they read?  Would they read chapters that were filled with things that make you proud, or things that embarrass you?  As people got to know you to the depths of your soul, would you like what they saw?  Well, if they wouldn’t like it, then change it.  It’s time for each of us to realize that although we can’t always dictate what goes on around us, we can dictate what we become because of it.  Time to write the most bad ass story that could ever be written.  Time to write a story that says you cared about other people.  Time to write a story that says you were worked hard and smart, and that you never gave up.  Time to write a story that said you were a loyal spouse and parent.  People, it’s time to drive that bus home.  Home, meaning to the destination where all your goals, dreams, and happiness preside.  It’s time to live intentionally!

Yours truly,
Intentionally living for days, Cram
