Wednesday has officially come.  It looks good, it smells good, and it’s about to get real.  We finally jump back into the doctrine by John C.  Today he talks about the importance of connecting with like-minded people.  He starts by saying that no person can achieve significance alone.  “It’s never been done, nor will it ever be.”  People try to achieve great things on their own for a couple of reasons.  The size of their ego, their level of insecurity, or they are simply just naive.  You may be able to accomplish some things here and there alone, but you will NEVER be able to find true significance and live a fulfilling life without the help of others.

It is important that we surround ourselves with the people that we want to make a difference with.  People who are willing to work towards significance and they crave it, will always find a way to make a difference, no matter the obstacle.  So how do you connect with those types of people?  Get clarity for yourself first.  What is your cause?  What are you trying to accomplish?  Who are you striving to influence?  Once you know that cause, you can shout it from the rooftops.  John C talks about how he took 6 months to “Articulate his dream.”  He carefully constructed a statement that described what he was seeking.  He describes it as becoming his own version of “I Have a Dream.”

He took what he had written down to a print shop and had it printed and laminated in a five by seven inch card so that he could hand them out.  He gave out hundreds of them.  Anytime he sensed that someone was seeking significance, he gave them a card.  All he did was hand them a card and say “Read this.  And if you want to join me, let me know.”  If you want to make a difference with people, you just need to find like-minded people who share common goals for doing something significant.  You just need to want to make a difference together and then do it.  One of my biggest purposes in life is to take young men and women who are in a pivotal point in their life, and do my very best to help them to make the choice to be a better version of themselves every day, and to do something great by doing something that is difficult.  And, what makes my path to this purpose so fulfilling and so great are the people that have joined me in this cause.  They are my friends, brothers, and my war-mates.  And together, we WILL take over the world!
