My good peeps! Hope everyone is doing super well. Jack Canfield, continues to talk today, about taking feedback and how really using it will get you where you want to go. He mentions that in most situations, when a person is trying to accomplish a goal, he or she will be off course far more often than being on course. A lot of times it will be the feedback they get that will get them back on course.

Canfield, begins to talk about many different ways you can respond to feedback that don’t always work. Firstly, caving in and quitting once feedback is given. How many times have you or someone you know received some type of negative feedback and caved in and quit? Again, remember feedback is simply information. Think of it as correctional guidance instead of criticism. Stop taking feedback so personally.

Secondly, he talks about getting mad at the source of the feedback. How many times do you get pissed at someone who was giving you feedback, which was genuinely useful? All getting upset does, is push the person and the feedback away.

Thirdly, he talks about ignoring the feedback. Not listening to or ignoring the feedback does not work. We all know people who tune out everyone’s feedback but his or her own. He or she do not want to hear anything anyone else has to say. Truth is, that feedback could significantly transform his or her  life, if he or she would just take the time to listen and respond.

Finally, he talks about being willing to ask for feedback. Most people will not voluntarily give you feedback. He or she are as uncomfortable with possible confrontation as you are. They don’t want to hurt your feelings and are afraid of your reaction. They don’t want to risk your disapproval. In order to get open and honest feedback, you are going to need to ask for it. Make it safe for the person to give it to you, don’t shoot the messenger or argue with them. Just simply say thank you. One of the best questions you can ask people is, “how do you see me limiting myself?”

Armed with this feedback, you can plan your attack on how to get better, you can get back on course, and you can get over your limiting beliefs.

As I always say, it does not matter how you get there, just as long as you get there. This world is jam packed with people who can help your journey to your destination be so much quicker and more enjoyable. Sometimes all it takes is asking. Love all of you guys. Have a fantastic day!
