Yo, yo, yo.  Let’s make it rain!  Today, my man John C talks about intentional anticipation.  “When urgent things happen, we Americans generally have the heart to respond in that moment.”  The only problem is that this type of significant act only occurs every once in a while.  Although it is awesome that we rise to the occasion during these times of need, the author talks about a different type of urgency in today’s reading.  The type of urgency he is talking about is urgency that is proactive and based on anticipation.  “To me, anticipation is a wonderfully proactive and intentional word for seeking out significance.”  People with anticipation plan to be significant.

People that create this type of urgency expect to live a life that matters every day.  They don’t wait around to be great.  They prepare to do significant acts.  They are constantly working towards making a difference in the lives of others.  They do things out of the ordinary.  So what are some things that anticipation does for us?

1. Anticipation cause us to value today- of all the things I try to teach my children on a daily basis, if I could just get them to value each day that they are alive and to take full advantage of it, I would be one happy dad.  “When you live intentionally, you know and understand that every day is your time to make a difference.”  And every day that we don’t approach our health with urgency, our relationships with urgency, our spirituality with urgency, our financial well-being with urgency, and our ability to grow with urgency……we waste another precious day.

How much do you value each day?  How much do you take advantage of the opportunities you have been given to bless your life and the life of others?
