Today is Thursday, hell to the yeah. Go get it! Today is an interesting topic to jump into. Why? Because everyone has an opinion of their own when it comes to what is right and what is wrong. The question is how much sleep does a person need each night? The first thing that experts will tell you is that there is no magic number. The amount of sleep that a person needs varies. “It is influenced by factors such as age, genetics, overall health, how much exercise a person gets, and many others.” While some people may be at their absolute best at 7 hours, some people might be healthier, getting 8 hours. However, because there so many variables, I would like to share my personal experience when it comes to this topic.

As I have said before, I used to think that if I didn’t get 8 hours of sleep every night, that I would get sick. And guess what happened when I didn’t get those 8 hours? I got sick. And it happened all the time. This was before I started going to the gym regularly. It was also before I started investing into myself with goals, affirmations, and self-development. It was also before I married my smoking hot wife, Holly.

Truth be told, I was settling for a mediocre life in a lot of ways, and I had it in my head that it was because I “needed” more sleep.

So here is what I learned. We need as much sleep as we create in our minds. The amount of sleep that we believe will keep us healthy, is the amount of sleep we will need to be healthy.

If you tell yourself you are going to be tired when you wake up the next morning, that is exactly what you will be. If you go to bed telling yourself you will be ready to take over the world, that is exactly what you will do. So now we experiment. No matter how long you set your alarm for tonight, say to yourself the following: (lets assume you chose 5 hours)- “I am so thankful for this 5 hours of sleep.” “5 hours is the exact amount of sleep I will need to wake up feeling great. And then sit back and watch what happens. Just like everything else, it is all in your head. At this point in life, I have never been stronger mentally and physically, and I do it all off of 5-6 hours of sleep a night. And it feels great! And I can’t begin to tell you how much a person can get done in a day with 18-19 hours ahead of them. Shit gets done! 🙂

Yours truly,

All in, Cram
