Time to get crunk on a Tuesday. “When our brains constantly scan for and focus on the positive, we profit from three of the most important tools to us: happiness, gratitude, and optimism.” The more you pick up the positive around you, the happier you will become. The more opportunities for positivity that we see, the more grateful we are. Few things are as valuable to the well-being of our lives than gratitude. Studies show that constantly grateful people are more energetic, emotionally intelligent, forgiving, and less likely to be depressed, anxious, or lonely. Those that are grateful, also tend to sleep better and have less headaches.
Optimism is also a huge part of being happy.
Turns out that optimism is a tremendously powerful predictor of performance.
Studies show that optimists set more goals than pessimists. They also put more effort into attaining those goals, stay more engaged in the face of difficulty, and rise above obstacles more easily. So let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that if I am happier, more optimistic, and more grateful, than I will be more productive at work, sleep better, be more energetic, overcome obstacles easier, and enjoy life more? Sign me the freak up.
Here is what I think. First, if you don’t already do it, take the time write down the things you are grateful for. I started to do it a few months ago. In fact, it is the very first thing I do when I wake up. Then, right before you go to bed, do the same thing. Watch how your life changes. Second, start to think of the cup being half full in all situations. Find the silver lining or the lesson and watch how your life changes. Along with that, compliment people, love people, and take care of people. God put us on this earth and has asked us to serve.
If you get caught up in serving yourself first, you will ALWAYS fail! If you are selfish, you will 100% of the time find yourself unhappy.
As I have said before, life is not meant to be complicated. The principles of happiness are simple. They are not simple to follow, but they are simple in principle. The world is at our fingertips, and there isn’t anyone that is stopping you from taking it over.
Life really is good, Cram
