I don’t know about you, but I plan on making Monday my little Biii!  Today, we continue to talk about the 5 ways we can seize the moment.

2. Take the risk when the potential for significance is high- “When you give yourself to others, there is a sense of vulnerability.  I can control my own little world, but the moment I try to move outside of it to something of significance, there are some things that are not in my control.”  I believe that this way of thinking is what keeps great people from doing great things.  They are afraid of the unknown.  Let me ask you guys a question for a second.  When has going after anything of value in life, with fear instead of faith, got anyone anywhere?  Never!  The movers and the shakers of the world, and the creators and the innovators, take risks!

Truth is, everything has risks.  You could fear risk so much that you would never leave the comfort of your own home.  But isn’t it an even bigger risk for you and your family and your future to sit around and do nothing with opportunity?  To me, living average, with very little growth is far more risky long term than to go all in RIGHT NOW!  What is the point of being alive if you don’t try and do something great?  I am in no way telling you to just jump in without doing your due diligence.  Take the time to go through the pros and cons to make sure the risk is worth your time.  But if it is and when it is, jump in as hard and as fast as you can.

At the Cram home, we take risks.  And it pays off.  Every night that it is humanly possibly, I take my boys out to play basketball in the street.  Their favorite game is around the world.  With this game, you are trying to make a shot at 10 different spots on the court before the other players.  If you miss, you have what is called “your chance.”  If you chance the shot and miss, you go back to the start.  If you make it, you move on.  Every time little Beck misses a shot, he says without fail, “I am going to go for it.”  We also went to Lake Powell as a family a couple of weeks ago where I watched my kids take chances time and time again, jumping off cliffs, wakeboarding, tubing at full speed, and more.  I find it to be a gigantic compliment for someone to say, “Those Cram’s do crazy things.”  Hell yeah we do!  And we love it!  In fact, we reward it.

Be someone who is willing to take the risk!

Yours truly,
Crazy Crams, Cram
