Friday deserves to be applauded because it is such a perfect day to take over! We just finished the book, The Happiness Advantage. It was an incredible book that I really do hope was able to hit close to home with each of you, as it did me. I am still up in the air with which will be my next book to blog. It’s a pretty big decision. Haha. I will get back to you on that by tomorrow and publish it in Tuesday’s post. In the mean time, I wanted to talk a little bit about my thoughts on perseverance and never giving up. There are many things I have learned in my studies over the course of the last several years. One of which is this; you have not failed until you give up. Here is something else I have learned; if you know what you want and you have a mentality that NOTHING will stop you from getting there, and you NEVER give up, you have a 100% chance of success.
I truly believe that God has blessed us with the ability to have everything we want, as long as it is a pure desire. He has also created enough good in the world for EVERY ONE of us to accomplish those desires. Far too often the world teaches us that when an obstacle comes our way, we should bitch, blame other people, and wonder why us. God teaches us that if we just keep churning those legs, that good things ALWAYS happen. At what point are we not going to realize that obstacles are just a part of life. No matter how buff, smart, or rich one might be, they are going to have trials. What’s interesting is that those who use trials as motivators are the ones that are long term buff, smart, and rich. They are also the ones that find long term happiness.
When was the last time you went through a trial? And when you did, did you take the time to think to yourself, “why me?” If you did, what an incredible opportunity you missed out on to gain knowledge from a crisis. The opportunity you missed out on because you did not rename the adversity and simply claim it. We have to start understanding that obstacles are going to come our way, but they don’t have to be the way. But let’s take the time to let them shape the way. Keep churning those legs. No matter what you are going through right now, keep your eye on the prize. There have been several cases in the last 100 years of men and women that have gone through similar trials and they have done one of two things; complain about them or learn from them. Those that learn from their trials are the creators, the innovators, the doers, and the achievers. They are those that take over the world as they take over their world. Literally!
Life is good. Embrace it!
