Well, one of two things can happen on a Thursday.  One, we live in mediocrity.  Two, we take over the world!  Mediocrity is for the birds and the bees.  Let’s get it!  I am flying on a plane back from Chicago to Salt Lake right now.  Plane flights are some of the best reflection times for me.  A lot of time to think, prepare, and learn.  Today, I want to talk about a concept that I learned while I was knocking doors as a college student.  A lesson that has stuck with me to this day.  Door to door sales is one of the single hardest jobs you could ever do.  Especially when you dedicate yourself to it 100%.  There were several times throughout the course of the 4 years I did it where my motivation was low that day for one reason or another.  I learned quickly that the longer I allowed myself to sit in a de-motivated state of mind, the harder it was for me to break free of it.

My remedy for this problem was to take a look at my watch and find out what time it currently was.  If it was 1:15, I told myself that I had until 2:15 to take my game to the highest level, because anyone can do anything for one hour.  I would then run door to door, get into more homes, be more assumptive, take more rejection before I moved on, and created more urgency.  Everything at the highest level for 60 hard core minutes.  Guess what had happened 100% of the time once 2:15 rolled around?  I either had gotten a sale, or I was in a completely different state of mind.  Both of which set the tone for the rest of the day.

During our course of time here on the earth, there are going to be instances when you feel de-motivated, scared, or unhappy.  When you feel this way, you HAVE TO blast through that state of mind as fast as you possibly can.  Because the longer you sit in it, the harder it will be to break free of it.  When something scares you, hit it head on.  When something irritates you, get over it.  When something de-motivates you, kick yourself into the highest level of motivation that you can and fake it until you make it.  And do it QUICK!  Each day only has 24 hours in it.  Not enough time to waste it worrying, hating, or being depressed.  BREAK FREE!
