Thursday is a day for gangsters, ballers, and pimps. Today we start to talk about the Law of Curiosity, which says that growth is stimulated by asking why? George Bernard Shaw once said,

Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.

So where does curiosity come from? Is a person born with curiosity? Or was it something that was instilled in them? I am not sure the answer to that question, but what I will tell you is this: curiosity is the key to being a life-long learner. And “if you want to keep growing and developing, you must keep learning.”

Curious people possess a thirst of knowledge. They are interested in many things such as life, technology, people, relationships, experiences, and events. They are constantly asking why? “Curiosity is the primary catalyst for self-motivated learning. They understand that the trail to discovery is just as exciting as the discoveries themselves. Curiosity without a doubt can help a person to think and expand possibilities beyond the ordinary. “Asking why? fires the imagination.”

Curiosity leads to discovery. It opens up doors. It takes people beyond a normal way of living to an extraordinary life.

So how does one cultivate curiosity?

  1. Believe You Can Be Curious – As Tony Robbins would say, many people fill their minds with limiting beliefs. “Their lack of personal self-confidence or self-esteem causes them to create barriers for themselves and put limitations on how and what they think.” What is the result of that? Failed potential. “We can not perform outwardly with in a way that is inconsistent with how we think inwardly.” Give yourself permission to be curious.
  1. Have a Beginner’s Minds-Set – “The way you approach life and learning has nothing to do with age. It has everything to do with your attitude.” Having a beginners mind set means to wonder why and always ask questions until you get answers. It also means you have to be open and vulnerable. As a beginner, you have no image to uphold and your desire to learn more is stronger than your desire to look good. “Anytime a person starts answering more than asking, you can be sure they’ve slowed down into their growth.”

Remember that those that are curious are the innovators of the world. They are the doers of the world. They are the creators of the world. They are those that are continually trying to get better. And because they try, they become.
