One cannot go wrong with Friday. Own it! Today the author talks about habits. Habits are behaviors that are repeated regularly and tend to occur subconsciously.
If a person is living a successful life, then that person simply has the habits in place that are creating and sustaining their levels of success.
On the other hand, those that are not achieving the levels of success that they want, it is because they have not fully committed to the necessary that will get them where they want to go. Our habits create our lives. Because of this, there really aren’t too many more important things to learn how to do than learning the art of controlling your habits.
“If you don’t control your habits, your habits will control you.” Problem is that most of us were never really taught how to create and execute a great habit. There should have been a class in school that was called Habit Mastery. I can guarantee that class would have been worth more to me than some of my freakin Geography classes. In fact, I would be willing to say that a class that taught the importance of, and the ways to be self-disciplined and in control of your daily habits, would have been more valuable than all the other classes combined.
In many ways, we are addicted to our old habits. Change is painful, and unless we don’t have a very proven strategy on how to control our habits, we will continue to fall back into our old ways. “One of the primary reasons most people fail to create and sustain new habits is because they don’t know what to expect, and they don’t have a winning strategy.” Many think that a habit is created in 21 days. The author thinks it takes a full 30 days to create a long-lasting habit. Over the next few days, we will go over the components of that strategy.
But before we do, remember, making the decision to live a life of great habits, is literally one of the best decisions you could ever make. So prepare yourself to make the right decision.
Until then, we shall dominate the world!
Good habits fuuurrrr days, Cram
