Icould not be happier to be alive. Today is going to be a great day. In today’s lesson, Mr. Canfield begins talking about doing things now. If you have an inspired impulse to take action on something you are working on, do it now. Canfield goes on to talk about the founder of McDonald’s; the founder once said that there are three keys to success:

  1. Be at the right place at the right time
  2. Knowing you are there
  3. Taking action

So many people fail to take action because they are afraid to fail. Those who are successful learn that failure is an important part for success. They learn from failure, and move on with greater knowledge bank. When you understand failure is to be learned from you begin to stop worrying about failure. You need to embrace the fact that failure, when dealt with correctly, only gets you closer to your destination.

Take this hypothetical illustration, on how you can learn from failure, for example. Today, you started a business you have always wanted to. This has been your dream for sometime now and you go all in on this business. For a few months you are working nonstop, day and night; you do this to build your business and to build a better life for you and your family. You look into every resources you can, you read business books, you read articles, and you make goals to do whatever it takes to make your business profitable.

However, six months down the road you start making a couple mistakes, some small and some big. These mistakes have eventually added up and the business fails. You can’t believe it, you do not understand why this business failed, you did everything to make sure it was successful. This is an extremely tough pill to swallow, but start to imagine how much further you would be ahead in life now as opposed to 6 months ago. Imagine how much more this experience has qualified you for success because of what you learned through your failure. None of this experience or progress would have happened had you not taken a leap of faith and taken action by pursuing your dream. Canfield continues his lesson by mentioning the following:

Get started, listen to feedback, make the necessary corrections, and keep moving forward toward your goal.

Every mistake or failure will yield up experiences and knowledge you will be able to use to move forward with your goal. Failure is apart of life; it is a known fact that an extremely high percentage of new businesses fail. However, if someone who is older is starting a business, it is less likely to fail because of the experience this person has gained through life. As you take chances in life and push for success in the way that will help you accomplish your goals, you will come to realize you are going to make mistakes here and there. This will never truly be considered failure, unless you give up in the end.

I am trying to engrain different principles in my children’s minds to help them grow up to be good, happy, and successful people. None of these principles are less important than to keep trying, never give up, and you have a 100% chance of overall success if you never quit. Principles that most of us undoubtedly do a fantastic job at teaching our children. However, do you practice what you preach? Everyone who reads this blog has as much potential to do great things as the person sitting next to them. You possess the same qualities; success will only be obtained if you will or will not ACT upon those qualities. Are you willing to lay your soul on the line for what you believe in, even if you fail here and there? It is a simple choice for you to decide if you want to be successful, and for some reason you oftentimes decide to make it complicated. Choose today to take action, start moving towards who you want to be.

Yours truly,

Moving towards great things, Cram
