Life is good on Wednesday! Today we continue to talk about ways to have an attitude of contribution.

  1. Don’t Let Stuff Own You – There are three groups of people:
  • Haves
  • Have-nots
  • Have not paid for what they have

The problem is that more and more people are being added to the third group on the daily. “People are becoming enslaved to the desire to acquire.” In general, if you are trying to feed emotional or spiritual needs with material things, all it will do is make you hungrier for more things. It WILL NOT satisfy. “No one should ever become a slave to his stuff.” Andrew Carnegie once wrote a book called “Gospel of Wealth”. In it he talked about how life should have two periods. The first being a time to acquire wealth and the other being a time to redistribute it. The only way to live a happy life is to have a habit of giving your time, attention, money, and resources. If you want to be in charge of your heart, don’t allow possessions to take charge of you.

  1. Don’t Let People Own You – Always make sure you are doing your best to give back as much as possible to every relationship that you have. Make sure that you are never allowing the other side to do all the work. Having great relationships is one of life’s greatest gifts. We should constantly be working our butt off to give back and cultivate them.

As we head into the Thanksgiving Holidays, I just wanted to take a second and express my sincere gratitude for all you have who inspire me every day to be a better person. Your stories give me great strength, and your desires to get better are a huge part of what motivates me to get up early every morning. Take some time during the holidays to really express your love to those who bless and shape your life. God is good. We are blessed. Life couldn’t be better! Happy Thanksgiving!
